The City of Greensburg, in partnership with HWC Engineering, has awarded contracts to Schutte Excavating for the reconstruction and enhancement of Washington Street from Franklin Street to Monfort Street. This project, funded by a Community Crossings Matching Grant from INDOT, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, The Indiana Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, and local match, is scheduled to take place from October 2024- September 2025 in multiple phases. Board of Works

The Board of Works is the chief administrative body of the City of Greensburg government. Its powers include oversight of the day-to-day operations of the following departments:
- Police Department
- Fire Department
- Engineering
- Water
- Sanitation
- Streets
- Water Pollution Control

In addition, the Board of Works regulates traffic improvements, air pollution, water pollution, building inspection, animal control, and aviation. Members of the Board of Works are chosen by the Mayor of Greensburg. Board of Works meetings fall on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm in City Hall. If regular meeting date falls on a holiday, then the meeting will take place on the following Wednesday. To request a road closure, please click here.
