MEET MAYOR
GARY HERBERT

Gary Herbert
Mayor, City of Greensburg
Welcome!
We are glad you are visiting our
Greensburg website.
The Tower Tree City is the county
seat of Decatur County, surrounded by communities filled with people proud to
live in southeastern Indiana. Greensburg is known for its friendliness and the
opportunity for families to walk around the block feeling secure and happy.
Greensburg features quality
education, a strong industrial base, retail shopping, special restaurants,
outstanding medical facilities, a great library and lifestyles appealing to
young and old alike. We're small enough to be your neighbor and dedicated to
providing quality living.
Greensburg is an ideal place to
live, offering arts and culture, good education, many churches, work
opportunities, civic activities and recreation.
A special treasure can be found in
the famous Tree on the Courthouse Tower in the historic downtown shopping
district.
Greensburg is home to thousands of
warm, wonderful people. More than a city, it is a community where family values
are strong and where neighborliness is king. The pride of our people in
themselves and in their community has been our prime asset in building a diverse
economic base, a wholesome quality of life, and a service-oriented city
government.
As Mayor of this great city, I
invite residents, visitors, and prospective investors to experience all we have
to offer. Whether it be one of our local amenities or an attraction in a nearby
city, the convenience, security, and peacefulness of Greensburg is a great place
to start and an even better place which to return.
We invite you to make your mark
here, as many have done, before, or take from here the experience we call home.
We welcome you here and invite you back to visit or to stay.
